Iran launched about 200 ballistic missiles at Israel. Missiles were launched from Isfahan, Tabriz, Khoramabad, Karaj, and Arak.

The decision to retaliate against Israel was made by Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) and after two months of “restraint”,  the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement.

Israel assassinated Palestinian Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on July 31. In its massive airstrikes on Beirut, Lebanon, on September 27, Israel also assassinated Iranian Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan, who acted as Iranian military advisor in Lebanon, and Lebanese Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

The IRGC has said about 90 percent of the missiles have hit the targets. It added it used hypersonic missiles.
